These classes are perfect for beginners or for yogis who desire a gentle practice. Challenging poses might still be suggested, but they will be complemented with modifications and everything will flow at a slower pace.
You can expect several Sun Salutations, to keep your body warmed up, and a combination of meditative movements and challenging poses. Modifications will still be offered for the more difficult poses that might not be accessible to everyone.
Agape classes are provided by donation and all the proceeds are given to a selected charity or cause.
Gentle Flow (or Slow Flow) invites you to experience the fluidity of a Vinyasa class without being pushed beyond your physical limits. Poses are choreographed to synchronize your movement with your breath, but a Modified Sun Salutation allows you to flow without having to transition from full-standing to low-plank. Great for those who want to flow at a softer pace.
Vinyasa classes are known for their fluid, intentional and dance-like quality. Your breath synchronizes with your movement as you flow from one pose to another. This tends to be a more vigorous and sweat-inducing class since poses are often linked through Full Sun Salutations that keep your body warmed up. Great for those who love a challenge.
Chair yoga is a gentle practice that adapts hatha yoga poses to be embodied while seated in a chair or while standing using the chair for support. Nurtures strength building, flexibility and deep breathing just like other forms of yoga. Great for those with compromised mobility or for folks who want to practice from their office chair.
Hatha is a general term that encompasses all forms of modern yoga that teach physical postures. As a style, a hatha yoga class is slow-paced, gentle and instructive. There’s time to really explore the poses since they are held for a few breaths. Great for beginners and all who want to develop alignment, strength and flexibility.
Designed with the expectant mother in mind, prenatal yoga can be practiced within all stages of pregnancy or even following the birth. Postures are adapted to exercise mental and physical health while keeping the mother’s body safe. Common benefits include: improved sleep, stress reduction, and increased strength, flexibility and endurance.
Restorative yoga helps you sink into deep relaxation. Bolsters, blocks, blankets and cushions are strategically used to prop and support the body in poses that are held over the course of several minutes to encourage passive stretching. Great for stress release, meditation and sleep preparation.
Intended to complement muscle-activating yang yoga, yin yoga is a quiet and meditative practice focused on lengthening your connective tissues, particularly around your joints. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes and muscles are often completely relaxed. Great for increasing flexibility and patience.
